- Belladonna. Also called Nightshade, Belladonna extract can cause heart palpitations, respiratory problems, fever, convulsions, coma, and death. A half dozen drops culled from the toxic roots, leaves, and berries can cause death within a few hours or death after a few days of suffering.
- Jimson Weed. A hallucinogen that is also potentially deadly, Jimson Weed is entirely poisonous, but especially the leaves and seeds. Symptoms include hallucinations, hyperthermia, tachycardia, and seizure, as well as coma and death.
- Lilly of the Valley. Also known as Our Lady’s Tears, Lilly of the Valley is common throughout the United States. The plant has a high toxicity and cases an immediate reaction, with symptoms including hallucinations, vomiting, clammy skin, hot flashes, coma, and death. Even the water in which the plant’s cut flowers are kept is deadly.
