For decades, geologists have observed a bizarre phenomenon at China’s Mount Gandang. About every 30 years, a cliff on the side of the mountain “lays” a stone egg. Locals say this has been going on for hundreds of years. The stones reach an average of 7 to 24 inches, with the largest weighing over 600 pounds. They have a dark blue hue and are almost perfectly smooth. After they are cleaned and polished, they reflect sunlight at certain angles.
