The lost Golden Library of Ivan the Terrible was believed to have held ancient manuscripts and occult works and was possibly destroyed by fire. The first Russian czar purportedly constructed the library in a vault beneath the Kremlin, but the location of the underground passages and chambers has been lost.
There’s much speculation about the library, including that Ivan cursed the collection, causing blindness to anyone who came close to locating it. Other rumors include Ivan’s fascination with black magic and the possible existence of additional holy scriptures,
