Visualize Your Fear

This week’s Write the Book prompt was suggested by podcast guest Gareth Higgins, author of how not to be afraid: Seven Ways to Live When Everything Seems Terrifying. The prompt comes from a section in the book called Invitation to Name Your Fears:

Sit still in a chair for ten minutes or longer. Contemplate one of your fears until something true comes forth. Write down or sketch your thoughts. Put another chair in front of you and visualize the thing that’s frightening you. Imagine this fear as if it were a person, describe them in detail, and perhaps even give them a name. Step outside your usual pattern of relating to this fear.
