These are Some Very Loud Teeth

It sounds like a demonic curse – or an awesome D&D spell – but the apparently real story of people whose teeth literally exploded in their heads comes from the January 1861 issue of The Dental Cosmos. In 1817, a reverend experienced excruciating pain in one of his bicuspids, until it literally burst into pieces in his mouth. Similarly cases were noted in 1830 and 1855, all of which ended with an audible report and busted tooth.

While modern dentists attribute the phenomenon to tooth decay, we’re sure you can come up with a better source. Magic? Demons? Microscopic invaders? What happens next?
