The Flower of Temple Street was a Killer Diller

The Carioca Café, circa 1930s

The week before the discovery of the Black Dahlia murder, the Flower of Temple Street was all the buzz in Los Angeles. In 1947, Jenny Trejo was known as the Flower of Temple Street, i.e.: the prettiest girl in the neighborhood. Josephine Soto coveted the title, but Jenny was prepared to fight for it. When they met at the Carioca Café on January 9, words were exchanged and Jenny stabbed Josephine three times in the chest and once in the neck. Jenny fled to San Francisco but later turned herself in.

That would make a great story.
