The Dead Girl and the Clay Doll

The Clay Doll of Apollo Bay

In February 1975, a hiker found a weird thing along Kennett River, near Apollo Bay, Australia – a 14-inch tall clay figure of a woman, missing the lower half of its left arm. Even weirder, about 15 feet away, the naked corpse of a young woman, her left arm missing below the elbow, had washed up by the mouth of the river.

The body was eventually identified as a 16-year old girl who’d been reported missing several years earlier. Her 40-year old “boyfriend” was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to life in prison.

But no one ever figured out the meaning of the clay doll or where it had come from. Coincidence? A post-mortem manifestation? Some other occult connection? Which came first, the lady or the doll? What happens next?
