A team of archaeologists is creating a record of life among astronauts on the International Space Station. The Sampling Quadrangle Assemblages Research Experiment (SQuARE) is compiling hundreds of photographs taken by astronauts during their time on the station and arranging it for analysis. The team is studying how residents on the station live as part of a small, socially isolated community in unusual physical circumstances. The photos document how astronauts work around the absence of gravity to secure everyday belongings, what they eat or don’t, and how they spend their free time.

An interesting look at the mundane aspects of traveling through space and a good reference for science fiction writers.
