During an interview with Roz Morris’ Nail Your Novel podcast, John McCaffrey urges writers to own their vocation by declaring themselves a writer.
“I feel that many writers, at all experience levels, can be shy or reticent to share with others about this pursuitl,” McCaffrey says. “Perhaps the reason is fear of ridicule, or condemnation for doing something that might not be monetarily beneficial. But if you are writing, and especially if you are serious about writing, then you are a writer. And standing up for your writing helps solidify it in your life.”
