Bruce Greenwood and Carla Gugino in Gerald's Game

A post on Archaeology World shares photos of a stone slab carved with a grid and cup holes to hold game pieces, which was discovered in the Qumayrah Valley, located in modern-day Oman.

Today’s prompt is to create a new game for your characters, even if you might not use it in your story. If you write literary fiction, invent a game that some characters might share with only each other or that they made up as children. If you write fantasy or SF, it could be something related to your setting or story world. If you write horror or crime fiction, you’re not off the hook. Serial killers often create games to play with detectives and horror monsters toy with their prey. What’s your game? What does it reveal about your characters?
