Writing Prompt: The End of an Era

Writing Prompt: The End of an Era by bigpulp

Julia Ruth Stevens, one of Babe Ruth’s adopted daughters, passed recently at the age of 102. Mike Gibbons, director emeritus of the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, noted that Stevens’ passing marked the end of an era. She was the last person alive to have a personal relationship with the baseball legend.

What would it be like to be the last person with firsthand knowledge of a famous person, event, or other aspect of life? The last person alive to have met Marilyn Monroe or the last survivor of the Tulsa race massacre. The last person to see an elephant or see sunlight without protective gear. Write about someone who is the last of their kind.
